First love

Beep! Beep! Beep! Samuel sat up slowly as he turned off his alarm. "Today is the big day Willaim. I finally start that new position at work." Sam said to his cat as he walked out the door of his small, one bedroom apartment. He got in his car and started driving to his office.
As he approached a stop light, Sam stepped on the brakes but the car didn't slow down. Samuel started to panic as he neared the intersection. He then noticed a large 18- wheeler speeding towards him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Samuel woke up in a daze in a white room, with a tube down his throat and an I/V needle in his arm. His head was pounding so hard he thought it would explode.
A tall, 6 foot 4, blonde doctor walked in and said, "So you're finally awake. I was starting to worry." He then proceeded to pull the tube out of Sam's mouth so he could talk.
"How long was I out?" Sam asked.
"About three days. I was told you ran a stop light and got hit by a truck. You've been unconscious ever since."
"It's not my fault. My brakes wouldn't work." Samuel exclaimed defensively.
"I would suggest getting them checked but your car is totaled."
"Fuck the car. Who has been taking care of William?" Sam worried.
"William? Is that your child?"
"No, he's my cat."
"Oh! Your sister came by earlier with an orange cat in her arms."
"Thank God." Sam sighed in relief. "So how long am I going to be here...um...doctor... I'm sorry, I never got your name."
"Oh, I'm sorry. I am Dr. Smith."
"My name is Sam."
"It's nice to meet you. Oh, you will be here for two or three weeks. I'm sorry. Hope you aren't missing anything."
"No.... I'm not." Sam replied.
"Well, I have to go and tend to my other patients."
As Dr. Smith walked out, Sam's younger sister came in carrying William in her arms. "Hey Bro. How are you feeling?"
"Alright I guess. Thanks for taking care of William."
"No problem. Hey that doctor is pretty cute. I wouldn't mind if he operated on me." Lilly said with a slight grin.
Sam never thought about a man that way, and he certainly never thought he would but, there was something about the doctor that seemed attractive. He didn't know why, but Sam couldn't wait to see Dr. Smith again.
