She
was the love of my life. My entire world revolved around her. Everything was
perfect. Well, until that day came. The day everything changed. The day I lost
my life.
In
the five years that I knew her, we were together for three of those years. And
in those five years we only had one single fight. And that was the only fight
we would ever have. That fight was the last fight we could ever have. And that
night, that god forsaken night, was my last chance to tell her I loved her, and
it’s all his fault…
We
met freshman year of college. Two young adults, fresh out of high school. Two
students who have never met. Day by day we sat in class. Day by day, this girl,
across the room, studying diligently. Not a single thought to love. Only her
degree.
Months
went by. The first semester had ended. I didn't even really notice her at
first, she was so very quiet, always either deep in thought or buried in her
text books. But as for me, I was barely getting by in class. English, oh did I
hate that class in high school. Why did I have to suffer through more?
It
was a month into the second semester of our freshman year. Little did I know
that soon my life would change. Soon, my life would change oh so much. I was
walking back to my dorm with my head in the clouds and music in my ears, when
all of a sudden I found myself on the ground along with that girl, and our
books everywhere. I looked up, and for the first time I saw this girl's eyes.
They were big, deep, enticing, glistening, and purple. Purple eyes. It was the
first and only time I have ever met a girl with purple eyes. Her hair, long and
flowing, reaching her lower back. It was pitch black. The only light I could
see in it was the sunshine reflecting off of the fine, smooth, locks. Her skin
was pail but gorgeous. It looked so soft. No makeup. None whatsoever. No
makeup, but her lips so red and shiny. I saw her mouth move as if she was
saying something. I quickly realized that I still had my headphones in so I
pulled them out quickly to hear what she was saying to me.
"Oh
my god! I'm so sorry." She rambled.
"No,
I'm sorry. I should have been paying attention to where I was going." I
replied as I started to help her sort through our books and scattered papers.
"Here, let me help you with those."
"Thank
you. My name is Nicole by the way." She introduced herself as we sorted
through the papers.
"I'm
Jasper." I replied, handing her a few papers with her name on them.
I
threw my stuff on my desk back in my dorm room. A single paper fell out of
my bag and landed on the floor. But one thing, the paper wasn't mine. It was
Nicole’s. “I should give this back to her tomorrow during class.”
That
night was filled with dreams, and that is very strange for me because, I
don’t dream, not since I was eleven years old. Each and every dream was filled
with the same girl, her. I have no idea as to why. Like I said, I never have
dreams, and why they were all about her, I haven’t the slightest clue. I don’t
even know this girl. All she is, she’s just this girl in my class. I have to
admit though, she is very beautiful.
The
next morning we ran into each other at the campus coffee shop, her hair
looked different this time though. She had dyed the tips red, blood red. I
should say something to her, but what? But before I could start to think of
something to say, she turned around and saw me.
“Hey Jasper!” She sounded surprised to see me, or was she excited? To this day, I have no idea which it was, but she indeed had called out to me so I had to respond, even though I was tongue tied, and that never happens to me.

“Hey
Nicole, what are you doing here?” You are such an idiot. She’s getting coffee,
why else would she be at the coffee shop, dumb ass?
“Not
much, just getting some coffee to wake me up.” She giggled as she answered.
Come on idiot, say something else.
Come on idiot, say something else.
“I
love your hair.” I stuttered, completely clueless as to what to say. Yeah, way
to go Dr. Horrible. Now you really sound like a retard.
“Thank
you! I've been wanting to dye it for so long, but I haven’t had the time.”
“Well,
it looks really good.” She smiled. I was lost again. Her paper, you idiot, give
her the paper. “Oh yeah, here,” I pulled out her paper and handed it to her. “I
guess I picked up the wrong one.”
She
laughed then pulled a paper out of her bag and handed it to me. “Looks like we
both missed one.” What is it about this girl? I feel completely comfortable
around her, yet I can’t find a single thing to say. “What class do you have
today?” She asked me, still smiling. It wasn’t one of those fake smiles that
the whole world puts on just to be polite either, it was genuine.
“Oh,
um Poetry. What about you?” Wow, you are actually holding out a conversation on
your own. I can’t wait to see how long this lasts.
“Ooh!
I love poetry!” She looked so excited, like a little puppy about to
pee itself. She is so adorable. “I have Photojournalism and Fashion
Design today.”
“Whoa,
two classes on a Saturday? I don’t think I could ever do that.”
“I
want to get as many classes as I can finished, so I can hurry up and move
to London sooner.”
As
soon as she mentioned London, I noticed that she had a Sonic Screwdriver that
was sticking out of the front pocket in her red flannel shirt. Holy crap!
This girl is a Whovian! And wait, red flannel, and that necklace, holy crap
this girl is a Hunter too! “Shut up, I can see that.” I mumbled under my
breath.
“What
was that?” She looked at me puzzled.
“Oh
nothing, just that little voice in my head.” Oh yeah idiot, now she’s on to us.
“Well,
I have to run off or I’ll be late to class. See you in class.” Nicole waved and
walked out the door.
Dumb ass.
“Shut up.”
After
class, Jasper slammed the door behind them and slammed his books on his desk in
the dorm room.
“What
the crap is wrong with you? We agreed that you would not do that in public!”
“I
agreed to not come out in public. All I did was think.”
“But
did you have to do that in front of her? Seriously!”
“Hey dumb ass, she was not part of the agreement.”
“I
am aware of that, but you have never even bothered me in public. Why in front
of her?”
“Perfect
opportunity.”
“Don’t
do it again, jerk.”
“I
make no promises.” He replied slyly.
